| These are examples of student portraits from some recent oil portrait painting workshops. These paintings are works in progress that allow his students the opportunity to apply the principles being taught in order to facilitate the learning experience. The goal is not necessarily to come away with a finished portrait from the workshop, but to be able to apply what was learned to future paintings. That said, these paintings show just how much can be accomplished in a short amount if one is focused and well directed. All the paintings were created using Marvin's innovative palette arrangement of earth-tone colors, which has the range to match any complexion, regardless of gender, ethnicity or age. The most important thing is that these paintings represent significant breakthroughs for each artist. If you're interested you can read their feedback.
